We were approached by Plunk’s Plan, the Japanese music label to create artwork for their latest album release by Fuji // In Brussels. The brief from label founder Junzo Suzuki, was simply to create something that visually conveys the experimental and improvisational quality of the music.
We decided to highlight the non-linear nature of the composition by layering the name of the album, letter by letter on its own concentric circle. In a way to create something seemingly complex but as understandable as the actual music.
We also revised a new visual identity for the label itself, again to better represent their diverse output.
